WHAT YOU CAN LOOK FORWARD TO?

As spring arrives, bringing brighter days, the Fata Morgana Greenhouse proudly hosts its highly anticipated orchid exhibition. This colourful event showcases the stunning diversity of orchids and offers intriguing insights into their captivating world.

This year’s exhibition highlights orchids' extraordinary survival strategies. These botanical illusionists employ sophisticated traps and tricks to lure their pollinators. Visitors will be fascinated to learn how orchids manipulate insects' behaviour to ensure their reproductive success.

For those who wish to bring a piece of this beauty home, tropical plants will be sold in the Exhibition Hall in the Ornamental Garden. A selection of orchids, from extravagant hybrids to rare botanical species, will be available.

When and Where

From 7 March to 23 March 2025, the exhibition will transform the tropical Fata Morgana Greenhouse into a vibrant paradise of colour.

Opening hours for the greenhouse (March–October)*:

Tuesday–Sunday, including holidays: 9.00 AM – 7.00 PM
CLOSED ON MONDAYS

*Last visitors may enter the greenhouse at 6.30 PM (30 minutes before closing time).

TIPS FOR A COMFORTABLE VISIT

  • Quieter atmosphere – Weekdays are less busy, allowing you to explore the exhibition and shop for plants peacefully.
  • Weekends tend to be busier – Expect higher attendance and possible waiting times at the entrance.
  • Use public transport if possible – Parking capacity is limited, and the path from the parking lot to the Fata Morgana greenhouse is hilly.
  • Baby carrier instead of a stroller – Strollers are not allowed inside the greenhouse and must be left outside. For a more comfortable visit with small children, we recommend using a baby carrier.
  • Exhibition opening hours – The exhibition is open Tuesday–Sunday, 9.00 AM – 7.00 PM. On Mondays, both the Fata Morgana greenhouse and the exhibition are closed (maintenance day). The last entry to the greenhouse is at 6.30 PM.
  • Orchid sales – Available in the Exhibition Hall of the Ornamental Garden, following the same opening hours as the exhibition (Tuesday–Sunday, 9.00 AM – 7.00 PM).
  • Faster entry with an e-ticket – With an online ticket, you can proceed directly to the turnstiles and skip the ticket office queue.

Admission

Admission to the exhibition is included in the standard entrance fee to the botanical garden, which covers access to all expositions, exhibitions, and ongoing events (unless otherwise specified).

* ZTP/P visitors have the option of free accompaniment.

Annual passes and VIP tickets are valid for this event. Neighbour passes are not valid for evening or guided tours.

Plant Sale

For visitors enchanted by orchids, a plant sale will be held in the Exhibition Hall of the Ornamental Garden. The selection includes magnificent hybrids and rare botanical species such as Phalaenopsis, Dendrobium, Vanda, Cymbidium, Cattleya, Paphiopedilum, and many more. Additional tropical plants will also be available.

Expert growers from Pokojovky.cz will be on hand to offer advice and recommend suitable species, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced collector.

Access to the sales area is only allowed with a valid ticket to the botanical garden.
