Butterfly exhibition - The poisonous beauty

This year's exhibition will focus on the mysterious aspects of butterfly life. You will learn what butterflies are poisonous, how poison gets from the plant through the caterpillar to the butterfly. How butterflies look for food for themselves and for caterpillars and what all the adults eat. Why do the wings of some butterflies glow. How they intercede for each other and look for a suitable partner for mating. The life of butterflies is simply full of surprises!

The Fata Morgana Greenhouse is always open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9 am to 7 pm.

The ticket for the exhibition corresponds to the standard price list.

What can you look forward to

This is the 18th year and this time it will focus on poisonous species. The Troja Botanical Garden has been working with the butterfly farm in Stratford-upon-Avon for several years. Gradually, 6,000 pupae of several dozen species of butterflies will arrive in the garden. Poisonous butterflies of the genus Heliconius are abundant, and there will also be tropical beauties Morpho peleides with azure wings and species that we have in Fata Morgana every year, ie the popular blue butterflies of the genus Morpho or the migratory monarch (Danaus plexippus). Of interest is Methona confusa, which is a butterfly with translucent wings.

You can shorten the waiting time for refreshments in our new Botanica restaurant, or by sitting in the new entrance area.
