Construction of a new exposition of endangered species

In part of the Slope area, we are preparing a demonstration of various habitats in the Czech landscape that are affected by the occurrence of endangered plant species. In the used solution, we make maximum use of the terrain and valuable existing places on our site. Where the quality vegetation of the Prague steppe is, it will be left, possibly improved by targeted cultivation interventions.

New expositions are planned in places where there are more nutrients and high grass vegetation of poor conservation value. We will use both depressions, in which we will plant wetland habitats of salt marsh and bog with the help of foil tubs, both of which are already extremely endangered in the Czech Republic. We will do our best to connect them to the surrounding vegetation because even in nature there are salty places and bogs often at the foot of the slope. Another element will be a snake rock. Snakes are one of the least frequent habitats in the Czech Republic and over ten critically endangered species of our flora are tied to them.

The area of the Dolní Povltaví exposition will also be conceived as a low rock rib what occurs a kilometer lower down the Vltava. Other elements will be limestone rocks inspired by the western edge of Prague around Radotín. The whole project was created in cooperation with the Department of the Environment of the City of Prague and the state nature protection AOPK. Habitats will become a place where we will maintain populations of critically endangered plant species in the long term as part of their rescue programs, and of course, we will introduce this issue to visitors.
